Gay-Targeted Sweepstakes
For the first time ever, Verizon wanted to communicate directly with the lucrative and responsive GLBT audience, and run banners on sites like gay.com, to tie in with their Denali giveaway for Verizon Freedom calling packages. It was a subtle line to walk, and the presentation of the banner called "Package" was the only time I have ever seen a client fall off his chair laughing. The units ran and had an astonishing click-through in the high teens.
